Equality and Diversity

At Sedgefield Primary we believe that all children should receive equal access to the full school curriculum and wider school experiences and fulfil their potential no matter what their background or personal circumstances.   In order to achieve equity we usr positive action and reasonable adjustments to ensure everyone has an equal chance to achieve and participate.  We maintain the aim of embedding principles of fairness and equality across our entire curriculum, in assemblies and Family Group sessions, in break and lunchtimes, in pastoral support and in after school and extra-curricular activities.

Learning about the diversity of our society and encouraging tolerance and understanding is an important aspect of our school curriculum in lessons, Family Group sessions, assemblies and special events.

We have decided upon some aspects of Equality which we would like to further develop. Please click here to view our Equality and Diversity Policy and here for how we comply with equality objectives.  Click here to see our plans to improve further.  Our Accessibility Plan outlines how we currently make the building, curriculum and communication accessible to all and our plans to further improve.  Click here to download our Accessibility Plan.
